TORONTO, ON. / July 21, 2005: Singer-Songwriter Matthew Osborne passed away unexpectedly in April 2004. Fellow musicians, friends and fans are getting together on Friday, August 12th, 2005 to celebrate his memory and music at Healey’s (178 Bathurst & Queen West) - one of Toronto’s best live music venues.
“Matt was an engaging and talented musician who had a gift that lit up the room. It was a great pleasure to share a stage with him. The world is a better place to have a legacy of recordings which capture Matt's spirit” says Canadian rock icon, Rik Emmett, one of Matthew’s many fans.
Performers include Toronto bar scene favourites – Uncle Seth, Angie Nussey, Art From The Ruin, Rick Temporao, Patrick Ang, Christen Latham, Chad Kobylka, Chris Patheiger and many more {please see the current line-up below and note we will release more acts as they join the event}. Healey’s is located at the corner of Queen and Bathurst, in the heart of Toronto's live music district. Doors open at 8:00pm.
The cost has been set at $10. Organizers recommend you reserve your tickets in advance.
All proceeds of this great night will go to the “The Matt Osborne Musicians Trust Fund”. “The trust fund has been created as a source of ongoing funding, education and mentorship for aspiring musicians. Matt always gave his time and insight to young musicians and through the trust fund we hope to help nurture the next generation of developing talent” says Chris Patheiger, former band mate and co-organizer of the Toronto memorial show.
