Matthew John Osborne was an extraordinary singer, songwriter and
musician who lived in Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. Matt passed
away in his sleep on the morning of Friday April 23, 2004. This site is
dedicated to his memory.
Please join us on Saturday August 10 2024 at Bobby O'Brien's (125 King St W, Kitchener) for Remembering Matt Osborne, a celebration of Matt's legacy features a number of his friends and musical collaborators playing his songs, and sharing stories of this amazing man. Starting at 3 pm, this event is part of the incredible Kitchener Blues Festival.
April 27 2024 6:30pm - 9:30pm -- Matt Osborne 20th Memorial Gathering - Emmanuel United Church 22 Bridgeport Rd West, Waterloo This will be a listening party with an unheard/unseen multi tracked audio of Matt performing from 2004!!
There will also be an opportunity to learn more about the Wilfrid Laurier University 'Matt Osborne Award' and how the Matt Osborne Trust Fund evolved into this award 6 years ago.

March 2019 -- Kickoff Sports Bar's 2019 Matt Osborne Musicians Trust Fund fundraiser raised $1,885! The current trust fund balance is $9,580.94.
March 2019 -- Wilfrid Laurier University will be starting a bursary in Matt's name for music students. The bursary would pay $1000 yearly to a music student chosen by the department, and it will be designed to run in perpetuity. More details to come.
April 23, 2018 -- Kickoff Sports Bar's Annual Matt Osborne Musicians Trust Fund fundraiser in Waterloo. They raised over $2000!! Please check out the photos from this event.
March 2018 update -- Kickoff Sports bar in Waterloo continues to do annual fundraising for the trust fund. In large part due to their efforts the fund will be able to do two more grants in support of artists in the KW area in 2018. An announcement will be made on Arpil 23 2018 to provide details about the grant opportunities and the new trust fund balance will be posted in the near future.

anniversary of Matt's death, the following events were held in Kitchener-Waterloo:
On April 24, the 10th Anniversary Memorial Jam was held at Cork Hall (352 King St. West in Kitchener,
inside McCabes).
